Entertaiment
About Entertaiment
An agreeable occupation for the mind; diversion; amusement: Solving the daily crossword puzzle is entertainment for many.
From Middle French entretenement; see entertain.
Oliver and Barstsch (2010) describe the concept of entertainment as an activity understood objectively, which encompasses communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, offers pleasure, requires an audience to exist and occurs in a passive form. It can be adapted to any scale, from an individual who selects private entertainment from a range of pre-recorded products to a banquet or party adapted for two people to performances intended for thousands and beyond.
